Exceptional service and everything well communicated!! Great tool for farming - the best ever!!
The TerraTAC X14 (and Pathfinder) is a hard-working, no-nonsense multi-tool that quickly earned its place in the Fire & Rescue Services. Excellent one-hand operated spring-loaded pliers for when your other hand is busy. Rounded scissors cutting clothing and bandages without damaging skin. The cutting hook, replaceable carbide wire cutters, a saw, and locking knife handle the usual snags—wire, webbing, light prying, and quick cuts—without you having to search for a second tool. A top quality tool used by Expat Rescue firefighters in Africa, whom all agreed that the Terratac tools outperforms the similar well known tools they previously carried, especially given the price and a real lifetime warranty with local support. The Terratac tool is a reliable everyday “always on you” piece that fills the gaps between the big kits. For firefighters and rescue techs who want something tough, usable one-handed, and actually carried instead of left in the locker, TerraTAC is a strong, practical choice.
Field Test Review: TerraTAC X14 Multitool vs. South African Bushveld Reviewer: Francois Janse Van Rensburg Location: KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa Application: Hunting, Field Dressing, and Custom Leatherwork As an avid hunter and outdoor enthusiast, my gear cannot just look good on paper—it must perform under messy, demanding conditions in the field. When the local buzz around the TerraTAC X14 EDC Multitool caught my attention, I decided to put it through a proper, unfiltered bushveld trial. I purchased my test unit back in August 2024 (Order #TT3707). Now, at the end of September 2026, this review comes after a full two years of continuous field testing and daily carry. This isn't a review based on opening delivery boxes; this is a breakdown of how the tool has performed across multiple hunting seasons, including the recent harvest and field dressing of an SA Bushpig. 1. Two Years of Field Abuse: Skinning & Prep Work Over the last 24 months, this tool has been pushed to its limits. During a recent nighttime excursion, I bypassed my dedicated hunting knives to see how the TerraTAC X14 would step up during the initial skinning and hide work on a massive, thick-skinned SA Bushpig. • The Blade Performance: Even after two years of edge maintenance, the 440A stainless steel sheep's foot blade performed flawlessly. The blade profile allowed for precise control, and the spine thickness held up exceptionally well without flexing when cutting through dense, coarse hair and tough cartilage. • Corrosion & Cleaning: Field dressing is a messy business. Despite being exposed to blood, water, and sweat over a two-year period, a quick rinse and an oil wipe-down are all it takes to keep the tool clean. There is zero staining or grit interference in the pivot joints. 2. Everyday Carry Modification: Custom Handcrafted Pouches While the tool itself is rugged, the factory-issued nylon pouch just doesn't match the grit of the African bush or look the part for everyday carry. To elevate the experience over my two years of testing, I custom-manufactured a series of premium leather EDC pouches specifically tailored for this tool. • The Design & Layout: I handcrafted both canted and traditional pancake-style pouches using thick, high-grade brown leather. They feature heavy-duty saddle stitching, robust snap closures, and unique border stamping—including a detailed Bushpig motif deeply stamped on the face of the canted EDC variant to commemorate its field legacy. • Optimized Retention: The moulded pockets secure the closed frame tightly while keeping it easily accessible. The canted version perfectly angles the tool for an incredibly fluid, natural draw while seated or moving. • Low-Profile Belt Fit: Moving through thick bush or crouching requires your gear to stay tight to your body. These pancake and canted designs distribute the 262g weight perfectly across a thick utility belt, ensuring the tool sits flat against the hip and never catches on thorns or brush. The Verdict: Is It Bush-Approved? After two years of hard field testing, the TerraTAC X14 has proven itself to be an absolute workhorse. It handled the gritty reality of processing a tough bushpig without a single slip from its liner-locks or structural failure in the framework. If you are a South African hunter or outdoor enthusiast looking for a tool you can genuinely abuse without worrying about losing an expensive import, this local contender earns its spot on your belt. Given how exceptionally well this model has performed over the last two years, I would love to get my hands on their top-of-the-range unit—if the entry-level X14 is the baseline standard for their quality, their premium offerings must be
Solid tool build for tough conditions love the materials and that its locally manufactured.Keep on flying the South African flag high
As a plumber, I use my Terratac X14 on a daily basis. The tool is versatile and tough. I have been through a number of imported multitools, that all have broken, but the Terratac seems to be more durable and is of exceptional quality. I upgraded to the leather pouch, and i am very impressed with the quality and finish.
Hi, the Terrarac X14 EDC Multitool is a great tool for inside and outside. In the Garden, Camping and quick fix jobs Car, lawnmower etc) The knife, saw pliers and all other essential little tools also great to have on your side daily. The Terratac X14 is not as expense as other well known Brands but it is a very good alternative at a much better price. The bit of a downside on the standard black pouch, it can easily be ripped off your belt. The Leather pouch is a good assitional alternative. Great Tool.
I love my TerraTAC EDC. I carry it every day and as a citrus farmer it is sure to be used more than a few times every day. I got the buy three get two free deal which is an amazing value for money deal. All five of these multitools are now working every day on citrus farms in the Sundays River Valley. The TerraTAC 14 EDC is a lovely product, good quality at a very good price. Definitely five more happy farmers give it five stars each. Loving it.
Ek het 'n paar stukke om Terratec mee te vergelyk... Hierdie staan uit! My kleinseun sal hierdie eendag as erfstuk van sy oupa kry!
The best tool for any kind of job that a wife needed to be done inside the house or outside. I would definitely recommend this. Buy yourself or a loved one today for that special Christmas 🎁
This is the best present. My hubby said that now he can actually throw away all the other tools because this one can do it all and more

I was delighted to receive these additional parts but initially had no clue how these would cut wires then I realised it was a spare part for the wire cutter💪. What a cool thing to have.
I have always used an international brand of multi tool to manage basic maintenance around the home but much to my disappointment, the tool did not live up to the hype. My new Terratac x14 is a different beast altogether. It's robust. It's a full toolkit in one. Did I mention the super service, speedy delivery and awesome pricing?
I work in an underground mine in Indonesia, on West-Papua.I have been using this x14 for a year and a half now. I carry it every day and use it for diverse jobs, from opening milk cartons to cutting tough plastic with the saw. I have also bought 3 others to give as gifts to some of my colleagues. An excellent product, proudly South African and tough as nails.
I was a bit dubious when I first ordered my multitool. But I was very pleasantly impressed once it arrived- it is solid and seems to be well made. The add on bits and screwdriver is a winner to have. I would recommend you get the leather pouch. I have the nylon one and lost it three times now. Lucky my staff have returned it each time.
LOVVE LOVVE LOVEE IT!! High quality and always helpful! definitely a must have item highly recommend for men and women.
As my first ever multi tool im soo happy with what i got carry it with me every day Thanks alot
Really cool set this.
Well made pouch for an affordable price!
As a maker by trade, I rely on quality tools every day, and my Terratac multitool has exceeded my expectations. I've been so impressed with it that I've bought several more as gifts—one for my son on his birthday and three for close friends. Every one of them has commented on the excellent quality and craftsmanship, and they all use their multitools daily. It's a practical, durable, and well-designed tool that I can confidently recommend to anyone looking for a reliable multitool. PS: Now I just need to get a pink one for my wife!!!!
I had "LM's" and Terrarec works excellent. Old men needs fine tools, tools to also help your wife's demands. Johann and Philippa
My man dra sy mes elke dag aan sy sy, gemaklik en verseker bederf. As hy ʼn "tool" benodig is dit aan sy sy. Beautiful mes ek love dit was die beste verjaarsdag geskenk ooit. Baie dankie julle
I have been watching the Terratac marketing on social media for a while now and decided to place my order to see if I can be converted. Bought the 3 for 2 deal with bit sets. 2 for gifts and 1 for me. Beautiful and solid. Love the spring-loaded pliers and scissors.
Solid tool for the price, I would not rate it better than my Leatherman but it does cost a third of the Leatherman so I suppose it’s justified. There is a slight alignment issue between the two sides when closed and it doesn’t feel as sturdy side to side. I have seen tools looking exactly the same without the name on takealot for half the price, which is kind of suspicious but the fact that you give a lifetime warranty makes it worth it for me to pay double. Overall - I am happy with the tool and it works well as a daily and on site as the owner of SG Solar I do frequently require a utility knife or pliers. Spring loaded pliers are great and the knife is better than the main blade on my leatherman but lacks a bit compared to the serrated blade which I would have loved on this tool possibly replacing the saw.
Fast delivery and good quality product. Very happy with the purchase. Affordable price
One of the best tools i have owned so far.Its as close to my side as my best friend,my doggo Ody.I can highly recommend this to every household handyman or woman.
I bought a TerraTac x14 EDC in Jan 2024, been carrying it daily ever since. To be honest, I feel naked without it. I am in the agricultural/mechanical industry, so this multitool just made life easier in a lot of ways. It was used in two animal rescues, where a Blesbuck and a calf was caught in poacher's wire snares. I was lucky to have the tool on my side, cut wire, animals freed, snares removed. My biggest point of this review is the after-sales service. After two years of proper use (and sometimes a bit of abuse) I encountered a small issue with the blade lock mechanism. I contacted TerraTac via e-mail, explaining the problem, and got a reply within an hour or two. I was simply asked for my delivery address, so they can send a replacement under warranty. WHAT SERVICE!!! I replied with my details, and the next day I had a tracking number for the courier. One day later my new replacement tool arrived. No questions, no hassles, no charge. Brand new tool in my hand. TerraTac, THIS IS SERVICE! Thank you so much. Not only are you supplying top-notch tools, but you keep your promises on warranty. Better than Leatherman! I would strongly suggest this tool to anyone for anything. Mine has been used for anything one can possibly think of, and it always performed. Even been used as braai tongs at a veld braai more than once, even that job wasn't too much for the tool. Thanks again TerraTac, I will continue to put your good name out there.
I loooove Terratac - I bought 5 to give as gifts to my close friends. Keep it up guys !
It is verry high quality
I'm blown away by the amazing customer support the tool is also amazing and perfect for my needs
I recently purchased a Terra Tac as a birthday gift for my father-in-law, who just turned 80. Despite his age, he's still actively working, installing gas systems for customers. I asked him to send me a video of himself using the tool, and seeing how happy he was made my day. It just goes to show that you're never too old to use a Terra Tac! Yes, it took him a little while to figure it out, but once he did, he absolutely loved it. I know this tool is going to make his work so much easier. Thank you for creating such an awesome product. I've also bought one for my husband, one for each of my sons, and one for a friend. I'll definitely continue buying Terra Tacs as gifts because they are, without a doubt, one of the best practical gifts you can give—perfect for both men and women, and at a price that makes them accessible to everyone. Keep up the fantastic work!
Bought as company gifts for our partners and everyone has been very impressed with the quality. A must have!
The fanbelt of my car tore and got tangled while driving, luckily I had my TerraTec by my side. So I could cut it loose and get it out to see the part number to call for assistance.😁
Great multitool will recommend it everyday of the week
Great oine service and can feel the quality of these. Won't go wrong.
