Rust prevention
The X14 is constructed of high-grade stainless steel. Like any other high-end stainless steel tool, some rust may form if not properly maintained.
Your X14 should be periodically cleaned, dried, and lubricated, especially if your tool has been exposed to saltwater or used in marine environments.
Simply rinse off with fresh water, dry and apply a light coat of oil.
Sharpening
Any knife edge can become blunt over time and with use. We recommend sharpening as required. The blade on your X14 can be sharpened using any standard equipment, including whetstones, rods, etc.
The sharpening angle should be 16 degrees on each side.

Nice tool… good build quality. If it was not for the press stud on the belt loop that unclipped almost causing me to lose the tool within the first few hours of receiving it. I used the awl to stitch the belt loop to the sheath, in addition I also installed a magnet to the front flap for extra peace of mind. If not for the sheath… would have been 5 starts

I've used the well-known international brands for years including having them issued whilst in the military. I am really impressed by the build quality, design, robustness, finish and attention to detail. TerraTAC really do a better quality product at a fraction of the price. Customer service was also excellent with good communication and swift delivery. This was my first purchase from TerraTAC and I'm hugely impressed!
I have been using the Terratac X14 MKII for just over two weeks at the writing of this review and I am happy to say that I am pleasantly surprised surprised by just excellent my user experience has ended up being.
Initially, admittedly, I was a bit skeptical about the Terratac brand, as my exposure came chiefly off of social media. It was only after my principal showed me his own Terratac multi tool that I decided to purchase one for myself and I have certainly not been disappointed.
My job portfolio is that of medical manager at my school as well as being a technology and EGD teacher. Due to this, I would normally have on my person a variety of screwdrivers and many individual tools for the maintenance of my drawing apparatus and first aid equipment, even the cutting of bandages and tape.
Since my usage of the X14 MKII however, I am happy to say that this multi tool is all I need to carry, as it fulfills all the functions that I require in my day to day. In addition to this all, I have slightly bigger hands which has meant that I have had one of two issues (or both) with some of the other brands, either my fingers are too big to be able to manipulate the pliers, scissors or even screw drivers in these multitools, or secondly, the tools become awkward to hold and thus impractical to operate.
With the X14 MKII, the above has been rendered redundant due to the small profiled-spring based pliers and scissors as well as the majority of the leverage based tools (scissors, knife, file, etc) having a lock mechanism, meaning that there is minimal slip under used.
Finally, I myself am most impressed with the fact that my multitool came with an included canvas pouch which allows comfortable carry of this extremely and practical multitools, making this an easy recommendation from my end.
It’s great to have a South African product good enough to rival the big names of Leatherman and Gerber etc. and I am more than happy to support you.
What I love about the X14 Mkll;-
1. An SA product
2. Sexy black finish
3. A lot of thought has gone into the design
4. The additional ‘bit pack’
5. Sprung pliers
6. Quality feel
7. Blades etc accessible from the outside without opening the tool.
8. Excellent after-sales service.
What I don’t like;-
1. After two month moderate use around the farm, the black is wearing off on prominent points
2. One of the wire cutter blades fell out on first use*. The blades themselves do not seem hard enough to cut thin fence wire without chipping. *Very happy that Terratac have sent me a new multi tool in replacement for the original which I must send back-excellent after-sales service.
3. There is some twist when using the pliers, lateral rigidity needs improving.
4. The spanners are sizes 7,8, 10 and 14. Who uses 14 (the Japanese?). IMO 13 would be better.
5. The ‘bit pack’ has three different-sized screwdrivers, but no torx bit - I put my own in 😁
6. It’s a little uncomfortable to grip the tool hard, some edges dig in, maybe give some more thought to ‘rounding off’..?
All in all a worthy, better vfm product than Leatherman (I have one of them too), maybe the Mklll will be the killer tool..?
My long overdue review. This was the second TerraTac we bought. TerraTac X14 Black - WOW what can I say this one is currently In Chad (Africa) our pilot's best friend - We bought it as a gift, and he is completely in love with it - How many time it has helped him in planes while flying and protecting our wildlife!! The engraving once again made it so special and Unique! Thank you so so much!!!

The TerraTAC was trueley a helpfull hand today working on a 55m tower replacing a Flirr camera. After dropping my spanner i atleast had my TerraTAC Multitool to assist with removing and refitting this camera today.
I love my new multitool Since the day I got it, I couldn't wait to start using it where I work on the plant. I have been using my “L” branded multitool for 5 years , I decided to spoil myself this past Christmas and get a new multitool after all of the hype on social media this tool definitely lives up to every bit of expectation, it is tough and the blade is extremely robust and sharp! I’ve paired my Terratac x14 Mk2 with the grit equip kydex holster - I must be honest! I feel like Batman! As a woman running a smallholding, I never thought I'd find myself practically glued to a multi-tool, but here we are. This tool, traditionally marketed to men, has become my #MVS (Most Valuable Sidekick). It's like having a Swiss Army knife on steroids, minus the corkscrew—because who needs wine when you have a barn full of chores? With its ergonomic design, it fits my hand like it was custom-made, ready to tackle anything from cutting to fixing fences. While it might not seem traditionally "lady-like" to carry a multi-tool, a lady need not be without a trusted multi-tool. It's better to be prepared for any eventuality. Overall Terratac tool is good and sturdy.

Im very disappointed in the engraving on my tool as is feels and looks like as sticker.
I opted for the BLACK POUCH but instead got the Brown one, VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS.
Got my son the silver one and the engraving on his is way better.
Delivery was fast so no complaints about that.
Final.checks on merchandise is bad.
So I'm a bit disappointed in terratac.
